Step 1: The left lens
Draw a rounded shape with a flat top, straight sides and a curved bottom, a bit like a soft shield. Make it on the left side of your paper.
Step 2: The right lens
Draw a second lens the same size and shape on the right side. Leave a small gap in the middle between the two lenses.
Step 3: The nose bridge
Draw a small curved arch that joins the two lenses near the top, like a tiny hill. Start it on the right side of the left lens and end it on the left side of the right lens.
Step 4: Arms and shine marks
Draw a short curved arm sticking out from the top outside corner of each lens. Then add a small curved line inside the upper outside corner of each lens to show a shine.
Step 5: The two dots
Near the bottom outside corner of each lens, fill in a small solid circle. These are sparkles of sunlight on the glass.
Step 6: The sun
Above the glasses on the right, draw a small circle for the sun. Leave it empty inside.
Step 7: The sun rays
Around the sun circle, draw short little dashes pointing outward, like the spokes of a wheel. Make four longer dashes at the top, bottom, left and right, and four tiny dashes in between. Leave a small gap between each dash and the circle.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing sunglasses
- Draw the left lens first, then make the right one the same size. Glance back at the first lens often so they match.
- Keep the nose bridge small. A gentle little arch looks better than a big bump.
- For the sun rays, draw each dash pointing straight away from the center of the circle. Make the four main dashes about the same length, and keep the tiny ones short.

How to color your sunglasses drawing
Try tinting the lenses dark blue or purple, and color the sun bright yellow with orange rays. For a creative twist, give each lens a different color. Leave the shine marks and sparkle dots light so they look like glints of sunlight.
Sunglasses fun fact for kids
Sunglasses are very old. Long ago, Inuit people in the Arctic made snow goggles from bone, wood or antler with thin slits to cut down the bright glare from snow.
