How to Draw Paper Mario · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Cap dome and brim

Draw a big rounded dome for the top of the cap, like an upside-down bowl. Then draw a curved line just inside it for the cap's brim, starting at the dome's left side and ending near its right side.

  3. Step 3: Chin and face sides

Under the brim, draw a short curved line along the bottom of the brim. Then draw a soft curve for the chin, bending up at the right side to meet the cap.

  4. Step 4: Cap badge

On the front of the cap, draw a small circle. Write a letter M inside it.

  5. Step 5: Ears

Draw a round ear bump on each side of the head, touching the cap's edge. Add a tiny curl inside the left ear.

  6. Step 6: Eyes, nose and mustache

Draw two tall oval eyes and a big round nose in the middle. Add a wide curly mustache under the nose and a short eyebrow line above each eye.

  7. Step 7: Arms and gloves

Draw a short sleeve coming down from each side of the neck. Finish each one with a round glove at the end.

  8. Step 8: Overall straps

Draw a short curved line across the chest under the chin. Add a small round button at each end of it, where the straps meet the front.

  9. Step 9: Legs and shoes

Draw two lines straight down from the overalls for the legs. Finish with big rounded shoes at the bottom, with a gap between them.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Paper Mario

  • Start the cap as a big dome and leave plenty of room below it, because the face needs to fit underneath.
  • Draw the nose as a circle first, then wrap the mustache around the bottom of it so the two shapes touch.
  • Make both ears and both gloves about the same size by drawing one side, then matching it on the other.
