How to draw Luigi step by step

How to Draw Luigi · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head outline

Draw a big rounded dome for the top of the head, then let the two sides curve down a little wider than they are tall. Finish each side with a small curl inward near the bottom.

  3. Step 3: The cap brim

Across the head, draw a long, thin, curved band shaped like a lens or a smile, for the brim of the cap. Make its pointy ends touch the sides of the head.

  4. Step 4: The cap letter

In the middle of the cap, above the brim, draw a letter L with rounded corners. Draw it as an outline so you can color it in later.

  5. Step 5: Ears, eyes and nose

Draw a half circle on each side of the head for the ears. Add two round dots for eyes and a tiny curved bump between and below them for the nose.

  6. Step 6: The big mustache

Under the nose, draw a big curvy mustache that swoops up over the middle and flicks out at both ends. Color it in solid so it stands out.

  7. Step 7: Shoulders and hands

Start under the chin on each side and draw a big curved line out and down for the shoulder and arm. Finish each arm with a little curled hand. Then draw a short line across the chest with a short straight line hanging down at each end.

  8. Step 8: Straps and buttons

Make the two short lines into straps by drawing a second line beside each one, and add a small circle button at the bottom of each strap. Draw a line across the middle between the straps for the top of the overalls, and add a short slanted line on each side for the sleeve.

  9. Step 9: Legs and shoes

From the bottom of the overalls, draw two straight sides going down, with a small gap in the middle to make two legs. Close each leg with a rounded shoe at the bottom.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Luigi

  • Draw the brim as a long, thin curve that touches both sides of the head, so the cap looks like it sits on top.
  • The mustache is the trickiest part. Draw it big and curvy, with the ends flicking out, and then color it in solid.
  • Draw the straps first and add the round buttons at the bottom of each strap last, so they sit right on the ends.
