Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head with flame hair
Draw a wide, rounded shape for the head with a flame on top. Make one tall point in the middle and a smaller point on each side, then curve the bottom into a smooth round chin.
Step 3: The body
Under the chin, draw two long lines going down for the sides of the body. Start each one at the bottom of the head and curve it gently, with a small flick at the end.
Step 4: The feet
At the bottom of the body, draw a bumpy line that makes two little rounded feet with a small gap between them. Connect it to the ends of the body lines.
Step 5: The arms
Draw a small rounded arm on each side of the body, starting just under the head. Each arm curves out and back in like a little mitten and touches the body.
Step 6: The flame swoops
On each side, draw a big curved swoop that starts near the foot, bends out around the arm, and rises to a point beside the head. Make the other side match.
Step 7: The eyes
Draw two round dots for eyes in the middle of the head. Keep them the same size with a gap between them.
Step 8: The number 4
In the middle of the chest, draw a chubby number 4 with a rounded outline. Leave the inside empty.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Human Torch from Fantastic Four
- Draw the flame hair with one tall middle point and a smaller point on each side. The middle one should be the tallest.
- Draw the flame swoops on the sides as long curves. Try the left one, then copy its curve on the right so they match.
- Make the number 4 big and chubby with a rounded outline. Skinny lines are harder to close, so start with a fat 4 shape.
