How to draw Hello Kitty step by step

How to Draw Hello Kitty · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head and ear

Draw a wide, round head shape that is a little wider than it is tall, with a small pointed ear on the top left. Start at the tip of the ear, curve down and around the bottom, and stop on the right side. Also draw the top line from the ear toward the right, and leave a gap near the top right for the bow.

  3. Step 3: The bow outline

In the gap at the top right of the head, draw the first curved lines of a sideways bow. Make a tall curve on the upper right, and a hooked curve on the left, and a short curve below them. These lines are still open, and the next step finishes them.

  4. Step 4: The bow knot

In the middle of the bow, draw a small circle for the knot. Add a tiny loop on each side of the knot, then finish the left and right puffs of the bow so the bow is closed.

  5. Step 5: The eyes

Draw two tall ovals low on the face, one on each side, the same size, with a wide gap between them. Color them in solid.

  6. Step 6: The nose

Between the eyes and a little lower, draw a small, flat oval. Leave it empty. It sits in the middle of the face.

  7. Step 7: The whiskers

Draw three short, slightly curved lines on each side of the face. Make the top one nearly flat and the other two angle downward, and let them cross the cheek edge so they stick out past the face.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Hello Kitty

  • Start with the wide head and the small pointed ear, and leave a gap at the top right where the bow will go. Keep the tip of the ear small.
  • Draw the bow outline first, then add the little knot in the middle and close up the puffs. It is easier to place the knot once the bow shape is there.
  • Make both eyes the same size and keep them far apart. Draw the whiskers last so they do not cross the eyes or nose.
