Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The big eyeball
Draw a big circle that fills most of your page. This is the whole eyeball, so take your time and make it nice and round.
Step 3: The middle circle
Inside the big circle, draw a smaller circle right in the middle. Leave an even gap of white all the way around it.
Step 4: The dark pupil
In the middle of the small circle, draw a smaller circle for the pupil and fill it in solid. Leave a tiny white dot near the top left for a shiny spot.
Step 5: Two top veins
Start at the top edge of the big circle and draw two short squiggly lines, one on the upper left and one on the upper right. Make them wiggle down toward the middle like little worms.
Step 6: Right and bottom-left veins
On the right edge, start a short squiggle and wiggle it inward. Then start another squiggle at the lower left edge and wiggle it up toward the middle.
Step 7: Left and bottom veins
On the left edge, a little below the middle, draw a short wavy line that starts at the outside line. Then add one more squiggle at the bottom right, starting at the edge and wiggling up.
Step 8: One last vein
On the left edge, a little higher than the last left vein, draw one more short squiggly line. Start at the outside line and wiggle it inward, stopping before the ring.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a spooky eyeball
- Draw the big circle lightly first. If it comes out lumpy, go over it again slowly or trace around a lid or cup.
- Keep the gap between the big circle and the middle circle the same all the way around so the eye looks centered.
- Draw the veins with a loose, wobbly hand and start each one on the edge. Do not worry if they are different, because messy veins look spookier.

How to color your spooky eyeball drawing
Color the middle ring bright green or yellow, the pupil black, and the veins red. Leave the little shiny spot white, or give the eyeball a spooky purple glow.
Spooky eyeball fun fact for kids
The black dot in the middle of your eye is called the pupil, and it is actually a hole. It gets bigger in the dark to let in more light and smaller in bright light.
Questions about drawing a spooky eyeball
What shapes do I need to draw a spooky eyeball?
You need three circles: a big one for the eyeball, a medium one for the colored ring, and a small one for the pupil. Add wiggly lines for the veins.
How do I make my eyeball look spookier?
Add more veins, make the pupil extra dark, and color the ring a glowing green or yellow. Thick, twisty red veins make it look extra creepy.
How do I draw the veins so they look right?
Start each vein at the outer edge and wiggle it toward the middle like a tiny worm. Make them short and bendy, and stop before they reach the ring.
