How to draw a robot crab step by step

How to Draw a Robot Crab · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The body

Draw a big wide oval in the middle of your paper, like a squished egg lying on its side. Make the bottom a little flatter than the top.

  3. Step 3: Two big claws

Up high on each side of the body, draw a big rounded oval. Then cut a deep V-shaped notch into the top of each oval to make the pinching claw.

  4. Step 4: The arms

Connect each claw to the body with two short curved lines, like a bent arm. Start under the claw and curve down to the edge of the body.

  5. Step 5: Two round eyes

Draw a small circle just above the top of the body on each side of the middle. Fill each circle in solid so the eyes look shiny and dark.

  6. Step 6: Side legs

On each side of the body, draw two long curved lines that arch out and bend down at the end, like little rainbows. Make the top leg shorter and the lower leg longer, and match both sides.

  7. Step 7: Lower legs

Near the bottom corners of the body, draw a pointy leaf shape on each side. Start at the body, curve out and down to a point, then come back.

  8. Step 8: Little feet

Near each bottom corner of the body, draw one short curvy line. It starts at the edge of the body and bends down like a tiny tiptoe.

  9. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a robot crab

  • Draw the body oval first and keep it wide. Everything else connects to it, so a good oval makes the rest easier.
  • The claws can be tricky. Draw the whole oval first, then cut the V notch into the top so both claws look the same.
  • Draw the legs in matching pairs, left then right, so both sides look even.

Most crabs walk sideways. Their leg joints bend outward, so stepping side to side works better for them than walking forward.
