  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head and cheeks

Draw a wide U shape for the lower part of the head, with the two sides curving up and the chin rounded at the bottom. Leave the top open for the hat.

  3. Step 3: The floppy hat

Draw a big curved dome across the top of the head. Add a thick band across the forehead with two long curved lines, and let the tip of the hat flop over to the right.

  4. Step 4: Pointy ears

Draw a pointy triangle sticking out from each side of the head, starting at the hat band and curving down to the cheek.

  5. Step 5: A happy face

Draw two small round dots for eyes, side by side. Add a little curvy smile in the middle below them.

  6. Step 6: The body

Under the head, draw a rounded box for the tunic, with a flat top and sides going straight down. Add a curved line down each side for the arms.

  7. Step 7: Collar and present

Draw a zigzag line across the chest for the collar. Under it, draw two flat lines for the present, then close the bottom with one straight line.

  8. Step 8: Hands, legs and toes

Draw two little hands at the sides of the present, then a line down the middle of the present. Add two short legs below the body, and a small curl on each outer side for the toes.

  9. Step 9: The elf shoes

At the bottom of each leg, draw a wide flat oval for a shoe. Make the two shoes touch in the middle, next to the curly toes.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
