Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Round head outline
Draw a big curve for the head, starting on the left side, swooping down around the bottom and coming back up on the right. Leave the top open for now.
Step 3: Body side lines
Under the head, draw two long, slightly wobbly lines going straight down, one from each side of the bottom of the head. Leave them open at the bottom.
Step 4: Wavy hair and crown
Draw a wavy line across the open top of the head for the hair. Then draw a crown above it with zigzag points, with taller points in the middle and shorter ones at the sides.
Step 5: Arms and round hands
On each side of the body, draw two short straight lines going out sideways to make an arm. End each arm with a small circle for a hand.
Step 6: Torn hem and legs
Draw a zigzag line across the bottom of the body to make a ragged shirt edge. Then draw two skinny legs hanging down from it, each one a tall narrow shape.
Step 7: Oval feet
At the bottom of each leg, draw a flat oval for a foot. Make the two ovals about the same size and let them sit side by side.
Step 8: Big zombie eye
On the left side of the face, draw a medium circle for an eye. Draw a smaller circle inside it and a tiny dot in the middle.
Step 9: Dot eye, smile and scar
On the right side of the face, draw a small filled dot for the second eye. Add a small smile shape below the eyes, then a little scar made of short crossing lines above the dot eye.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid in a zombie costume
- Draw the head first and make it big. The body and legs are small, so leaving room at the bottom of the page keeps the feet from getting squished.
- The crown is the trickiest part. Start with the tall middle point, then add the side points so they are about the same height.
- For the torn hem, make short zigzags with your pencil, like a row of little mountains. Do not worry if they are uneven, since ragged is the goal.

Questions about drawing a kid in a zombie costume
What shapes do I need to draw a zombie kid?
You need a big curved head, two lines for the body, circles for the hands and eye, and flat ovals for the feet. The crown and torn shirt are just zigzag lines.
How do I make my zombie look cuter?
Keep the smile small and friendly and make the big eye extra round. A tiny dot for the other eye and a small scar make it silly instead of scary.
How do I draw a zombie crown?
Draw a zigzag line like a row of triangle points, with the tallest ones in the middle. Draw the wavy hair line along the bottom so the crown looks like it sits on the head.
