How to Draw a Greek Temple (Easy Step by Step)
A Greek temple is a great first building to draw because it is made almost entirely of straight lines. You only need a triangle for the roof, tall lines for the columns, and a wide block for the steps. Once you can draw those, you can build a temple in a few minutes.

Step 1: The roof
Draw a wide, flat triangle for the roof, with the point at the top. Make the long bottom line straight, and let both ends curl up a little into rounded corners.
Step 2: Outer columns
Under each end of the roof, a little way in from the corner, draw one tall straight line going down from the bottom of the roof. These two lines are the outside columns of the temple.
Step 3: Next columns in
Draw two more tall lines, one on each side, just inside the outer ones. Start each at the bottom of the roof and make it the same height as the others.
Step 4: Doorway columns
Draw two tall lines near the middle, leaving a wide gap between them for the doorway. Start them at the roof and keep them as long as the rest.
Step 5: The steps
Under the columns, draw a long wide shape like a stack of two blocks. The top block is narrower and sits right under the columns, and the bottom block sticks out on both sides like a big step.
Step 6: Little details
Add a short straight line inside each side section, between two columns. Then draw two long straight lines across the steps, one above the other.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Greek temple
- Draw the roof first and use a ruler or the edge of a book for the long bottom line. A straight base makes every column line up neatly.
- The columns are the trickiest part because they should all be the same height. Start each one at the roof and stop at the same spot, or lightly mark the bottom with small dots first.
- Leave a wide gap in the middle for the doorway, and keep the other gaps about equal so the temple looks balanced.
