Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Dome head and chin
Draw a big dome like an upside-down bowl, starting low on the left side, curving up and over, and ending low on the right side. Then draw a short, gently curved line near the bottom for the chin.
Step 3: Two round ears
On each side of the head, draw a round bump like half a circle that sticks out. Start at the side of the head, curve out and around, and tuck the line back in underneath.
Step 4: Hands on the cheeks
Draw two long, bean-shaped hands pressed against the lower cheeks. Start each one with a rounded top near the cheek, then let the sides stretch down and curve into a soft rounded bottom.
Step 5: Left eyebrow
On the left side of the face, draw a curved line that rises to a little peak and then dips down toward the middle. It should look like a worried eyebrow.
Step 6: Eyes and right eyebrow
Draw a round dot for each eye and color them in dark. Add a tiny slanted line on top of each eye, then draw a short, curved eyebrow above the right eye that slopes down toward the middle.
Step 7: A small frown
In the middle of the face, between the hands, draw a small upside-down U for a sad mouth. Make the ends curve down like a little arch.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a crying kid
- Sketch the head as a light oval first, then draw the dome on top of it so both sides match.
- The hands are the trickiest part. Draw each one as a long bean shape that starts near the cheek, so it looks like it is in front of the face.
- Keep the eyes as round dark dots and draw the eyebrows curving down toward the middle. That slope is what makes the face look worried and sad.

How to color your crying kid drawing

Crying kid fun fact for kids
Your eyes make tears all day long, not only when you cry. Each blink spreads a thin layer of tears over your eyes to keep them wet and wash away dust.
