How to Draw a Bathtub (Easy Step by Step)
A bathtub with a rubber duck is a fun first drawing because it is built from simple shapes: a big bowl, a long flat rim, curly feet, and a bumpy line of bubbles. The duck sits right on top, so you get to practice both straight lines and wobbly, bumpy ones.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The tub bowl
Start with a big wide bowl shape. Draw two straight sides going down, then curve them into a smooth rounded bottom, like a giant smile.
Step 3: The rolled rim
Across the top of the bowl, draw a long, flat line that curls around at the left end. Then draw a second straight line just below it, running back to the right, so the two lines make a flat rim.
Step 4: Feet and legs
Under the tub, draw two tiny straight legs in the middle. Then add a curly foot at each end, starting from the bowl and ending in a little swirl like a question mark.
Step 5: Faucet and knob
On the left of the rim, draw a tall upside-down J shape for the faucet. To its left, add a small loop for the tap knob sitting on the rim.
Step 6: The rubber duck
Above the rim, draw a rounded head with a small beak sticking out on the left. Then draw a curved back and a pointy wing sweeping out to the right, with a little curved line on the wing. Finish with a curvy line from the duck's chest down to a small loop on the rim.
Step 7: Fluffy bubbles
Starting at the duck's chest, draw a bumpy, wavy line of bubbles going to the right. Curve it down at the end so it lands on the right end of the rim.
Step 8: The duck's eye
Finish with a small round dot for the duck's eye, near the top of its head. Fill it in so the duck looks friendly.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bathtub
- Draw the two long lines of the rim straight and close together, and curl the left end around to join them.
- The curly feet are the trickiest part. Make each one a long curve that ends in a little swirl like a question mark, and draw both feet to match.
- For the bubbles, make lots of small bumps in a row, like the top of a cloud. Start at the duck's chest so the duck looks like it is sitting in the foam.

How to color your bathtub drawing
Try a bright yellow duck with an orange beak, a blue or pink tub, and white or light blue bubbles. A dark dot makes a good eye.
Bathtub fun fact for kids
In 1992, a ship crossing the Pacific Ocean lost a container of 28,800 floating bath toys, including rubber ducks. Some of them washed up on faraway shores years later, and scientists used them to learn about ocean currents.
