A camper van is a happy drawing because it is made mostly of rounded boxes, circles and straight lines. You will build the body first, then add wheels, windows and a surfboard on top. By the end you will have a van that looks ready for a road trip.

Step 1: Van body outline
Draw the top of the van in one line. Start low on the left, go straight up, curve across a flat roof, then slope down toward the front. Then draw a short bumper piece at the bottom left and another short piece at the front, with a gap along the bottom for the wheels.
Step 2: Wheels
Draw two big circles in the gaps along the bottom of the van, one near the back and one near the front. The bottom edge of the van stops where each circle begins.
Step 3: Wheel hubs
Draw a small circle in the middle of each wheel. Try to put it right in the center so the wheels look round and even.
Step 4: Bottom edge
Draw a straight line along the bottom of the van to connect the two wheels.
Step 5: Side stripe
Draw one long straight line across the middle of the van, from the back edge almost to the front.
Step 6: Side windows
Draw three rounded rectangles in a row above the stripe. Each one is open on the left side. Make them about the same size with even gaps between them.
Step 7: Curtains and posts
Close the left end of each side window with a small curved shape like a letter D. Then draw two short straight lines standing up from the roof, like little posts.
Step 8: Front window
Draw a rounded window at the front of the van with a slanted right side that follows the nose. Add one slightly tilted line inside for the glass edge.
Step 9: Surfboard
Draw a long flat oval on top of the two posts. Make it pointy at the right end, like a surfboard.
Step 10: Headlight and grill
Draw a small filled circle for the headlight at the front corner. Then add a sideways V shape on the front, below it, for a little grill.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a camper van
- Draw the body lightly first. The roof should be flat and the front should slope down, so keep your pencil gentle until it looks right.
- The two wheels are the trickiest part. Draw them about the same size and the same height so the van does not look tilted.
- Space the three side windows evenly. Draw the first, then make the next ones the same width with a small gap between.

Many camper vans have a roof that pops up, so the people inside can stand up straight and still sleep, cook and rest in a very small space.
