How to draw a tent step by step

How to Draw a Tent · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: The tent shape

Draw a big triangle with a flat bottom and the point at the top. Make the two slanted sides meet in the middle at the peak.

  2. Step 2: The tent door

Inside the triangle, draw a tall skinny triangle with a rounded top. Start its two sides on the bottom line and let them meet a little below the peak of the tent.

  3. Step 3: The flag

Draw a straight pole going up from the top of the tent. At the top of the pole, draw a small triangle flag pointing to the right.

  4. Step 4: Tent ropes

On each side, draw a curved line that starts on the tent wall and bends out and down, like a rope holding the tent. Make both curves about the same size.

  5. Step 5: The campfire flame

Next to the tent, draw a teardrop shape with the pointy end at the top. Keep the bottom nice and round.

  6. Step 6: Inner flame and logs

Draw a small teardrop inside the big flame. Then draw two short straight logs under the fire so they cross in an X.

  7. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a tent

  • Draw the flat bottom line first, then add the two slanted sides so they meet at a point in the middle. This keeps your tent from looking lopsided.
  • The door is a tall, thin triangle with a rounded top. Start it on the bottom line and stop a little below the peak of the tent so there is room around it.
  • For the flame, start with the pointy top and curve down each side to a round bottom. Draw the small flame inside it the same way, just smaller.
