Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The bowl
Draw a big U shape, wide at the top and curving down to a rounded bottom. Add a short curved line sticking up at each top corner, where the noodles will start.
Step 3: Rim and foot
Draw a long, gently curved line across the top of the bowl from one side to the other. Then add a small trapezoid, a box that is a bit wider at the top, under the bottom of the bowl for its foot.
Step 4: The noodle mound
Above the rim, draw a puffy cloud shape with lots of bumps along the top. Let it start at the left edge of the bowl, go up and over, and come back down to the right edge.
Step 5: Two toppings
On the left, draw a wide oval that sits on the rim, with a small circle and a dot inside it. On the right, draw a small round ring with a filled dot in the middle.
Step 6: Wavy noodles
Between the two toppings, draw two long wiggly lines that start in the middle of the mound and go down to the rim of the bowl. Make them wiggle side by side like friends.
Step 7: The chopsticks
Draw two long straight lines slanting up to the right. Start both of them near the right topping, so it looks like they are holding the ramen.
Step 8: A happy face
On the front of the bowl, draw two small round dots for eyes. Then draw a little curved smile in the middle, below and between them.
Step 9: Steam
Above the noodles, draw two wavy lines that go up like squiggly snakes. They show that the ramen is nice and hot.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bowl of ramen
- Draw the bowl first and keep the top rim wide and gently curved. It gives the noodles a place to sit.
- The wavy noodles are the trickiest part. Draw them slowly, as if your pencil is walking over small hills, and keep the two lines about the same distance apart.
- Draw the chopsticks with a ruler or in one smooth stroke each so they come out straight and side by side.
