Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The left cherry
Draw a big circle near the bottom left of your page. Make it round, about the size of a small apple.
Step 3: The right cherry
Draw a second circle the same size next to the first, with a small gap between them. Keep both circles at the same height.
Step 4: Left stem and leaf
Start at the top of the left cherry and draw a long curved line that swings up and to the right. At the top, draw a pointy leaf shape like a lemon lying on its side, starting where the stem ends.
Step 5: The right stem
Start at the top of the right cherry and draw a gentle curved line going up and to the left. Stop where it touches the left end of the leaf, next to the first stem.
Step 6: The leaf line
Inside the leaf, draw one long, slightly curved line starting near the stem end and going toward the pointy tip. Stop before you reach the edge.
Step 7: Left cherry face
Add two small dots for eyes and a tiny curved smile like a little bowl. Then draw a short curved shine mark near the top left inside the circle.
Step 8: Right cherry face
Give the second cherry the same two dot eyes, a little smile, and a short curved shine mark near the top left.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing cherries
- Draw the two circles first and keep them about the same size. If one comes out a bit smaller, it still looks cute, so no need to erase.
- The stems are the trickiest part. Draw each one in a single smooth swoop instead of many tiny wobbly bits, and make them meet at the leaf above the cherries.
- Keep the eyes and smile small and place them in the middle of each circle. Leave room above them for the shine mark.

How to color your cherries drawing
Color the cherries bright red and the leaf and stems green, and leave the shine marks light. For a twist, make one cherry red and the other a sunny yellow, like two different kinds growing together.
Cherries fun fact for kids
Every cherry has one hard pit, called a stone, in the middle, with a single seed inside it.
Questions about drawing cherries
What shapes do I need to draw cherries?
You need two circles for the cherries, two curved lines for the stems, and one pointy oval for the leaf. A line inside the leaf, dots and a small curve finish the details.
How do I make my cherries look cuter?
Add a happy face with two dot eyes and a little smile. A short shine mark near the top left of each cherry also makes it look round and glossy.
How do I draw the stems so they meet?
Draw the left stem up to the leaf first. Then start the right stem at the top of its cherry and curve it up until it touches the leaf end, right next to the first stem.
