How to Draw a Vampire (Easy Step by Step)
This little vampire is a good first spooky drawing because it is mostly circles and curves. The head is one big circle, the cape is a wide shape with a flat bottom, and the tiny fangs and pointy ears give it lots of character. Once you can draw this one, you can change the face to make it happy, sleepy or silly.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big round circle near the top of the page for the vampire's head. Leave a small gap at the bottom for the chin, and leave lots of room below for the body.
Step 3: Pointy ears
On each side of the head, draw a pointy ear like a small leaf. Start each ear at the head, go up to a sharp tip, then curve back down to the head.
Step 4: The hairline
Near the top of the face, draw a wavy line from one side of the head to the other. Make it dip down into a V shape in the middle, like a widow's peak.
Step 5: Eyes and fangs
Draw two round dots for eyes, spaced apart in the middle of the face. Near the bottom of the face, draw a tiny mouth with two short, pointy fangs hanging down.
Step 6: The collar
Under the chin, draw a wavy line that stretches out wide on both sides. Lift each end up into a pointy collar tip, like a cape standing up behind the head.
Step 7: The cape
From each tip of the collar, draw a line down that bends in a little and then slants wider toward the bottom. Join the two sides with a straight line across the bottom to make a wide, flat-bottomed cape.
Step 8: The neck curve
Under the mouth, draw a small smooth curve like a bowl. This shows the top of the vampire's shirt.
Step 9: The round button
In the middle of the body, draw a small circle for a button or brooch. Keep it neat and round, and centered under the head.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a vampire
- Draw the head circle first and keep it big. The ears, hairline and face all attach to it, so a good circle makes everything else easier.
- The V-shaped hairline is the trickiest part. Mark the bottom point of the V in the middle first, then draw a gentle curve up to each side.
- Keep the two fangs short and the same length. Tiny fangs look cute, while long ones start to look scary.
