How to Draw a Tree with Flowers (Easy Step by Step)
A tree with flowers is a happy drawing built from a few simple shapes: a bumpy cloud for the leaves, a bucket shape for the trunk, and a little star-shaped flower and round bud at the bottom. It is a great first nature drawing because every line is smooth and friendly, and there is no wrong way to make a bump.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The leafy treetop
Draw a big, wide cloud shape near the top of the page. Make it a row of bumpy, rounded scallops that join all the way around, like a puffy cloud.
Step 3: The trunk
Under the middle of the cloud, draw two lines going down that start at the cloud and spread a little wider toward the bottom. Close the bottom with a flat line so the trunk looks like a tall bucket.
Step 4: The flower on the left
On the left side of the trunk, down low, draw a small flower shaped like a wobbly five-petal star. Make each petal a little round bump.
Step 5: Left stem and leaves
Draw a short stem down from the bottom of the flower. Add a pointy leaf on the left and a small pointy leaf on the right, and close the bottom of them with a flat line along the ground.
Step 6: The round bud
On the right side of the trunk, draw a small circle at about the same height as the first flower. This is a round bud or a tiny pom-pom flower.
Step 7: Right stem and leaves
Draw a short stem down from the bottom of the circle. Add pointy leaves leaning to the right, and close the bottom with a flat line on the ground.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a tree with flowers
- Draw the treetop cloud with light, loose bumps first. If one bump comes out too small, just make the next one bigger, since uneven bumps make the tree look more natural.
- Start the trunk lines so they tuck up under the cloud and meet it. Keep the bottom wider than the top so the tree looks like it is standing firmly.
- Make the flower petals one at a time, like five little round bumps. Draw the stems short and straight so the flowers stand tall.

How to color your tree with flowers drawing
Try a bright green treetop, a warm brown trunk, a pink or yellow flower on the left, and a purple bud on the right, with green stems and leaves. For a creative twist, color the treetop in autumn reds and oranges.
Tree with flowers fun fact for kids
Trees pull water up from the soil through their roots and carry it up the trunk to the leaves. A big tree can move hundreds of gallons of water in a single day.
