Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Body outline
Start at the base of where the neck will go and draw a big curve down the left side, across the round bottom, and up the right side. End with a little pointed flick for the tail on the right. The top of the body stays open for now.
Step 3: Neck and head
Above the body, draw a tall shape with a rounded dome on top and a flat bottom that sits on the body. Fill it in solid dark. Leave a small white patch on the left side of the head and add a tiny dot for the eye.
Step 4: The beak
On the left side of the head, draw a small pointy beak like a thin triangle with rounded corners. It sticks out to the left, next to the white patch.
Step 5: The back line
Start at the bottom right edge of the neck and draw a tiny hook down. Then draw one long, gentle slope to the right that ends at the tip of the tail. This closes the top of the body.
Step 6: The wing
In the middle of the body, draw one curved line like a smile. It shows the edge of the folded wing.
Step 7: The webbed feet
Under the belly, draw two short legs side by side. At the bottom of each leg, draw a flat, rounded foot shape that points to the left.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Canada goose
- Draw the body outline big, so there is plenty of room for the neck to sit on top.
- The neck is the trickiest part. Make it a tall shape with a rounded top, and keep both sides about the same distance apart all the way up.
- Draw the wing as one smooth smile-shaped curve. Try it lightly in pencil first, then trace over it.
