Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head, ears and back
Start at the bottom of the snout and draw a big rounded head that curves up and around on the left. Add a pointy ear on top, then a second pointy ear, and keep going down the neck and along the back in a gentle curve.
Step 3: Chest and front leg
Draw a tiny line down from under the chin for the chest. Then draw a long, slightly slanted line down for the front of the front leg, finishing with a rounded paw that curves back up.
Step 4: Rump and back paw
From the end of the back, draw a big curve down the rump to the ground and round it off into a back paw. Then draw a short bumpy line going left from the paw for the bottom of the back leg.
Step 5: The middle leg
Draw a short line for the belly, then a leg going down to a wide rounded paw. Bring the line back up to meet the belly.
Step 6: The far back leg
Tuck in a small leg behind the others. Draw a little U-shaped paw that joins the bumpy line near the back leg.
Step 7: The tail
At the end of the back, draw a small tail shaped like a rounded loop that points up and out, like a tiny thumb.
Step 8: The nose
At the tip of the snout, draw a small shape like a rounded triangle or guitar pick. Color it in solid black.
Step 9: Two eyes
Add two small solid dots for eyes on the face, one near the snout and one a bit farther back, both above the nose.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bull terrier
- Begin with the big rounded head and draw the two pointy ears on top, one a little different from the other so they look natural.
- The legs are the trickiest part, so draw them as short, slightly slanted tubes with rounded paws and leave small gaps between them.
- Draw the nose and eyes last, and make them solid dark shapes so the face pops.

Questions about drawing a bull terrier
What shapes do I need to draw a bull terrier?
You need a big rounded shape for the head, a sturdy rounded body, and short legs with rounded paws. Add two pointy ears, a small loop for the tail, and a rounded triangle for the nose.
How do I make my dog drawing look cuter?
Make the head big compared to the body and keep the legs short and round. Make the eyes small solid dots and the nose a shiny black shape.
How do I draw the legs so they look right?
Draw the front leg first, then the back leg and the middle one, and tuck a smaller leg behind them. Overlapping the legs makes your dog look like it is standing in real space.
