How to Draw a Unicycle (Easy Step by Step)
A unicycle is a funny bicycle with just one wheel, and it is made almost entirely from circles and straight lines. You start with a big round wheel, add a bean-shaped seat on top, and finish with spokes that fan out like a sunburst. It is a great first drawing for practicing circles.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The big wheel
Draw a large circle in the lower part of your page for the tire. Then draw a second circle just inside it, leaving a thin gap all the way around.
Step 3: The seat
Near the top of your page, draw a flat, rounded shape like a squished bean, a little wider at one end. This is where the rider will sit.
Step 4: Post and fork
Draw one long straight line down from the middle of the seat until it reaches inside the top of the wheel. At the bottom, draw two short lines that start together and spread apart a little, like a thin upside-down V.
Step 5: The hub
Near the middle of the wheel, draw a small rounded shape for the hub. Add a short straight line sticking out from its left side and another from its right side.
Step 6: The spokes
Draw six straight lines from the hub out to the inner circle, like the rays of a star. Space them out evenly so the wheel looks balanced.
Step 7: The pedals
Draw a small rounded rectangle at the end of the short line on the left side of the hub. Draw another one on the right side to match.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a unicycle
- The two wheel circles are the trickiest part. Draw the outer circle first, then the inner one a small, even distance inside it, and turn your paper as you go to keep the gap the same.
- Keep the post as straight as you can. Try drawing it in one slow, steady stroke from the seat down to the wheel, or use the edge of a ruler for a first try.
- Start the spokes at the hub and draw outward. This helps them all meet in the middle, and you can space them like slices of a pizza.

How to color your unicycle drawing
Try a bright red wheel with a blue seat and yellow spokes, or use the colors of a rainbow for each spoke. You can also color the two pedals different colors to make them easy to spot.
Unicycle fun fact for kids
The word unicycle comes from "uni," which means one, and "cycle," which means wheel or circle, so it simply means one wheel.
Questions about drawing a unicycle
What shapes do I need to draw a unicycle?
You need two circles for the wheel, a small rounded shape for the hub, a bean shape for the seat, and straight lines for the post, fork, and spokes. Two small rounded rectangles make the pedals.
How do I draw a perfect circle for the wheel?
Trace around a bowl, a cup, or a jar lid for the first try, or practice making circles in the air before you draw. Drawing a light circle first and going over it when you are happy helps too.
How many spokes does this unicycle have?
This drawing has six spokes. They start at the hub and reach out to the inner circle, spaced evenly like the rays of a star.
