How to Draw Baby Mario · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head and tiny nose

Draw a big rounded head, a little wider than it is tall, with a small round bump for an ear on each side. Then make a tiny short dash in the middle of the face for the nose.

  3. Step 3: The chubby body

Under the chin, draw a short rounded shape like a bean or a bell for the body. Start just below one side of the head, curve down and around the bottom, and come back up to the other side.

  4. Step 4: Little arms

On each side of the body, draw a small round loop like a mitten. Start near the shoulder, curve out and down, then tuck the end back to the body.

  5. Step 5: The shirt collar

Just under the chin, draw a short curved smile-shaped line to show the neckline of the shirt.

  6. Step 6: The cap dome

Draw a big half circle over the top of the head, like a rainbow, starting and ending at the sides of the head. Add a tiny bump on top for the button.

  7. Step 7: The cap brim

Draw one gentle wavy line across the forehead, from one side of the cap to the other, to make the edge of the brim.

  8. Step 8: The letter M

In the middle of the cap, draw a small letter M with thick, rounded strokes. Go down, up, down, up, down, like two little mountains.

  9. Step 9: Two round eyes

Draw two big round dots for eyes, spaced apart on the face, below the brim and on either side of the nose. Color them in solid.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Baby Mario

  • Draw the head first and keep it very round. The cap sits on top of it, so leave room above the head.
  • The brim is just one gentle wavy line across the forehead. Let it curve a little at each end where it meets the cap.
  • For the M, make the strokes thick and a bit wobbly. Letters that look soft and rounded fit this character better than sharp ones.
