How to Draw a UFO (Easy Step by Step)
A UFO is a great first drawing because it is mostly ovals and circles. You will draw a squished oval, a dome, a round head with antennae, and a row of little rings, then add a light beam and some stars. It is quick to draw and looks fun when it is finished.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The saucer
Draw a long, flat oval across the middle of your page, like a squished egg lying on its side. Make it nice and wide because this is the body of the spaceship.
Step 3: The glass dome
On top of the saucer, draw a tall rounded arch like a half circle. Start on the top edge of the saucer on the left, curve up and over, and come back down to the saucer on the right.
Step 4: The alien's head
Inside the dome, draw a round curve for the alien's head, like an upside-down U. Start and end it at the top edge of the saucer so the alien looks like it is peeking out.
Step 5: Face and antennae
Add two round dots for eyes in the middle of the head, then draw a small curved smile underneath. Finish with two short slanted lines on top of the head for antennae.
Step 6: Round windows
Along the middle of the saucer, draw a row of five small circles, spaced evenly apart. Make each one a little ring so it looks like a porthole.
Step 7: The light beam
Under the saucer, draw two slanted lines that spread apart as they go down, like a lampshade. Join them at the bottom with a gently curved line.
Step 8: Twinkling stars
Fill the sky around your UFO with four little dots for faraway stars. Spread them out around the corners of your page.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a UFO
- Draw the long saucer oval first and make it wider than you think you need. The dome and the beam both rely on it, so a roomy oval makes everything else easier.
- The alien's head is the trickiest part because it sits right on the top edge of the saucer. Go slowly and let both ends of the curve touch the saucer.
- For the row of windows, make a light dot at each spot first, starting with the middle one, then one on each side. That keeps the five circles evenly spaced.

How to color your UFO drawing
Try a silver or purple saucer, a light blue dome, and a bright green alien. For a creative twist, color the beam in yellow and orange stripes, and use a dark blue background so the stars stand out.
UFO fun fact for kids
UFO stands for unidentified flying object, which means something in the sky that nobody has figured out yet.
Questions about drawing a UFO
What shapes do I need to draw a UFO?
You need a long flat oval for the saucer, a half circle for the dome, and a round curve for the alien's head. Small circles make the windows, and the beam is a wide shape that spreads out toward a curved bottom.
How do I make my UFO look like it is flying?
Draw a light beam coming down from the bottom of the saucer and a few stars around it. The beam and the stars make it feel like the UFO is up in the sky.
How do I make my alien look cuter?
Give it a big round head, wide-set dot eyes, and a small smile. The two little antennae on top add a lot of charm.
