Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The snowy ground
Draw a long, slightly wavy line across the bottom of your paper. This is the snow all three snowmen will stand on.
Step 3: Top hat and head
On the left, draw a tall rectangle for the top hat, with a flat line across its bottom for the brim. Under the brim, draw the round sides of the head, leaving the bottom of the head open.
Step 4: The big body
Under the tall head, draw the big round body as a curve that starts at the left, swings down to the snow line and back up on the right to tuck under the head.
Step 5: Middle snowman's head
In the middle of the page, draw an upside-down U shape for the second snowman's head. Leave the bottom open for now.
Step 6: The scarf
Draw a short wavy band across the bottom of the middle head for a scarf. Then draw a long loop hanging down from the right end of the band.
Step 7: The little woolly hat
On the right side of the page, draw a small curved dome shape in the air. This will become the smallest snowman's hat.
Step 8: Faces, arms and little snowman
Finish the three snowmen. Add dot eyes and a short stick nose to the two bigger heads, and dot buttons on the bodies. Give each snowman two stick arms with a small fork at the end. Then draw the middle body and the smallest snowman, with his hat band and a tiny loop on top. Add a stripe on the tall hat and a dot beside it.
Step 9: Falling snowflakes
In the sky, draw one star-shaped snowflake with a plus sign and an X across it. Add two short slanted dashes for snowflakes on either side.
Step 10: Snow dots
Finish by adding two tiny dots in the sky. Put them wherever you like.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a snowman family
- Start with the big snowman on the left and give his body a nice round shape. Let the head tuck into the top of the body.
- The top hat is the trickiest part. Draw a tall rectangle with straight sides and a flat brim across the bottom.
- Make the arms with a short line and a small fork at the end. If they look too stiff, tilt them upward as if the snowman is waving.
