Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big circle in the upper middle of your page. Leave a tiny gap at the top, where the bow will sit later.
Step 3: Dress sides
Start at the bottom of the head and draw two long slanted lines going down and out, one on each side, like the sides of a party dress. Give each line a little curl at the bottom, and leave the space between them open.
Step 4: Arms
On each side of the neck, draw a long rounded loop, like a leaf, reaching out sideways. Make both arms stick out at the same height.
Step 5: Legs and shoes
Between the bottom of the dress sides, draw two tall rounded shapes side by side, like little tubes. Add a wavy line across the bottom of each one to make a shoe.
Step 6: The bow
On top of the head, in the gap, draw two small loops that look like little leaves meeting in the middle. Add a tiny knot where the two loops touch.
Step 7: Face
Draw two small dots for eyes in the middle of the face. Then add a little curved smile below them.
Step 8: Buttons
Draw two round dots, one above the other, down the middle of the dress.
Step 9: Frosting cuffs
Near the end of each arm, draw a short wiggly line that goes across the arm. This is the frosting at the end of each sleeve.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a gingerbread girl
- Sketch the head circle lightly first. If it looks wobbly, draw over it a second time until it feels round.
- Start the two dress lines right under the head so they meet the neck with no gap. Let them spread out evenly so the dress looks balanced.
- Keep both arms the same length by drawing the left arm first, then matching the right arm to it at the same height.

Gingerbread girl fun fact for kids
The ginger in gingerbread comes from the underground stem of the ginger plant. That spicy stem gives the cookies their name and their warm flavor.
