How to Draw a Park Bench (Easy Step by Step)
A park bench is a fun drawing because it is built from simple shapes: long rounded rectangles, little curls, and a few straight lines. The small bird resting on top gives it a story. Take your time with the curls and you will end up with a bench that looks ready to sit on.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Top back rail
Draw a long, flat rounded rectangle in the middle of the page, like a fat sausage lying on its side. Make the corners nice and round.
Step 3: Lower back rail
Right under the first rail, draw a second long rounded rectangle the same width. Leave just a little gap so the two rails look stacked.
Step 4: Curly armrests
At each end of the lower rail, draw a small curl that starts near the rail, loops around like a snail shell, and ends in a little swirl. Make the left and right curls match.
Step 5: Back supports
Under the lower rail, draw two short slanted lines, one near each end, going down and slightly outward.
Step 6: The seat
Under the supports, draw a long flat shape that is wider at the bottom, like a squashed trapezoid. Then add a thin rectangle along its bottom edge for the front of the seat.
Step 7: Legs and curls
Under the seat, draw one short straight leg near the right side. Then draw a curvy leg at each end that sweeps outward and ends in a little swirl.
Step 8: The little bird
On top of the bench, draw a plump bean-shaped body with a small round head and a short pointy beak. Add a tiny tail stick on one side and two little feet touching the top rail.
Step 9: Grass tufts
Under the bench, draw three short curved lines that lean a little, like blades of grass. Also draw one more short straight leg under the left side of the seat.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a park bench
- Draw the two back rails the same length by lining up their ends. Lightly mark where the left and right edges will be first.
- The curly armrests are the trickiest part. Draw one curl at the end of the rail, then make the second one the mirror of the first.
- Draw the bird near the end and keep it small and round. Let its feet rest on the top rail.
