Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a tall, rounded shape in the middle of your page for the head and chest, with a flat-ish bottom. Add two short little lines sticking up from the top for the eye stalks.
Step 3: The tail
Under the head, draw a line down from each bottom corner, getting a little closer together as they go. Finish with a small rounded tip at the bottom.
Step 4: Tail stripes
Draw two gentle curved lines across the tail, from one side to the other. Each one should smile downward.
Step 5: Tail fins
At the bottom of the tail, draw a small leaf shape on the left and another on the right. They look like two little paddles.
Step 6: Long arms
Start at each side of the head, near the top, and draw one long, slightly bent line going up and out. Make both arms about the same length.
Step 7: Big claws
At the end of each arm, draw a big round shape. Cut a small notch out of the top so it looks like a pinching claw.
Step 8: Long antennae
From the top of the head, draw two long curved lines that sweep up and away from each other, like a gentle letter V.
Step 9: Little legs
On each side of the head, near the bottom, draw three short lines pointing out and down. Make them like little sticks, like a comb.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a lobster
- Draw the head first and make it tall, because the arms, antennae, and legs all connect to it.
- The claws are the trickiest part. Draw a round shape first, then cut a small notch out of the top.
- Make the tail stripes curve downward like smiles, and keep both fins about the same size.
