Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Hat and head outline
Draw a curved dome for the top of the hat, leaving a small gap at the top middle. Then curve the lines down each side to make the round cheeks of the head, and stop them near the chin.
Step 3: Hat band and pom-pom
Draw two curved lines straight across the hat to make a stripe. Add a small circle in the gap on top for the pom-pom.
Step 4: The scarf
Under the chin, draw a short curved line for the top of the scarf. Below it, draw a line that goes across and ends in a little tail hanging down on the right side.
Step 5: The coat
Draw the coat below the scarf with two straight sides and a flat, slightly rounded bottom. Add a straight line down the middle for the zipper.
Step 6: Face and arms
Add two dots for eyes and a small smile on the face. Then draw a bendy arm hanging down on the left with a small circle for the mitten, and an arm bent up on the right ending in a small round mitten.
Step 7: The snowball in hand
Draw a big circle just above and to the right of the raised mitten. That is the snowball, ready to throw.
Step 8: The boots
At the bottom of the coat, draw two wide ovals side by side for the boots. Add a tiny line above each oval where the boot meets the coat.
Step 9: The snowball pile
On the ground to the right, draw three circles that touch each other, one on top and two below.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid with a snowball
- Draw the hat as a dome and leave a small gap at the top. The pom-pom circle fills that gap neatly.
- The raised arm is the trickiest part. Draw it bending up from the coat, then finish with a small round mitten at the end.
- For the snowball pile, draw the top circle first. Tuck the two bottom circles in underneath so they touch it.

How to color your kid with a snowball drawing
Try a red hat and scarf, a blue coat and brown boots, and leave the snowballs white with light blue shading. For a twist, add falling snowflakes in the sky using dots and tiny stars.
Kid with a snowball fun fact for kids
Snowflakes are made of tiny ice crystals, and every one has six sides or points. Snow looks white because the many little crystals scatter all the light that hits them.
Questions about drawing a kid with a snowball
What shapes do I need to draw a kid with a snowball?
You mostly need circles and ovals, plus one rounded box for the coat. The head, mittens, snowballs and boots are all simple circles or ovals.
How do I make the kid look friendlier?
Draw the eyes as two dots and the smile as a small curve between them. Placing the smile a little lower on the face makes the kid look extra cheerful.
How do I draw the snowball so it looks like it is about to be thrown?
Draw the snowball just above and to the right of the raised mitten, next to the head. That placement makes it look like it is up in the air.
