How to draw a snorkel mask step by step

How to Draw a Snorkel Mask · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Frame, tab and strap line

Draw a wide rounded shape with a flat top, curved sides and a soft dip in the middle of the bottom edge, where the nose fits. On the left, add a little rounded tab sticking out. On the right, draw one short straight line going out from the frame.

  3. Step 3: The glass lens

Inside the frame, draw a smaller shape with the same outline: flat on top, rounded corners, and a gentle dip at the bottom. Leave an even gap all the way around.

  4. Step 4: Second strap line

On the right side, draw a second straight line going out from the frame, just below the first one. Now the two lines make a flat strap.

  5. Step 5: The snorkel tube

At the end of the strap on the right, draw a tall, skinny tube going straight down. At the bottom, bend it to the left and finish with a rounded end for the mouthpiece.

  6. Step 6: The shiny highlight

Inside the left side of the glass, draw a short curved line like a little corner. Add a tiny short line where the left tab meets the frame.

  7. Step 7: Bubbles

Above the mask, draw three circles in different sizes floating up. Draw a small one on the left, a big one in the middle and a medium one on the right.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a snorkel mask

  • Draw the inner lens after the outer frame, and keep the gap between the two lines about the same all the way around.
  • The dip at the bottom of the mask is the trickiest part. Draw it as a soft, wide bump, like a gentle hill, and do the same on the inner and outer lines.
  • Draw the snorkel tube with two lines that stay the same distance apart, so the tube does not get thinner as it curves at the bottom.

How to color your snorkel mask drawing

Try a bright blue or green for the frame and strap, and light blue for the lens and bubbles. For a creative twist, color the snorkel in rainbow stripes or add a little fish swimming past.

Snorkel mask fun fact for kids

A snorkel lets swimmers breathe air through the tube while their face stays in the water, so they can look at fish and coral for a long time without coming up.
