Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The baseball
Draw a big circle for the baseball near the bottom left of your paper. Take your time and try to make it round like a ball.
Step 3: The curved seams
Inside the ball, draw two curved lines, one on the left and one on the right, that bow in toward the middle like this: ) (. Start each one at the top edge of the ball and end at the bottom edge.
Step 4: The stitches
Along the inner side of each curved seam, draw a row of small Vs lying on their sides, with the points touching the seam. Keep them short and about the same size.
Step 5: The bat outline
Draw a long bat that slants from the top left down to the bottom right, passing above and to the right of the ball. Start with a small round knob at the top, make a thin handle, then widen it into a big rounded end.
Step 6: The grip bands
Near the thin handle end of the bat, draw two short lines straight across it, close together. They make a little band where hands would hold the bat.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

- Make the two seam lines bow in toward the middle, like ) (, and keep them the same distance from the edges so the ball looks balanced.
- For the bat, start with the small round knob at the top, follow down a thin handle, and let it get wider toward the bottom. Draw the whole outline in one smooth line if you can.
