How to Draw a Trophy (Easy Step by Step)
A trophy is a fun drawing because it is built from simple shapes: an oval, curves, rectangles, and a star. Once you know the cup, the handles, and the base, you can make a winner's prize for anyone. Add some sparkles and it looks like it just won the big game.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The cup
Draw a wide, flat oval at the top for the opening. Then draw a bowl hanging from it, with sides that start at the two ends of the oval, curve inward and meet in a round bottom.
Step 3: The two handles
On each side of the cup, draw a round loop shaped like the letter C. Start each loop at the cup's side near the top, curve it out, and bring it back to the side of the bowl lower down.
Step 4: The skinny stem
Under the bottom of the cup, draw two short, slightly curved lines that go down and spread apart a little, like a narrow neck.
Step 5: The top base
Draw a wide shape like an upside-down U with square corners under the stem. Let the top edge touch the ends of the stem lines, and draw the two sides straight down.
Step 6: The bottom base
Draw a bigger, wider rectangle under the first shape. Its top edge closes off the bottom of the upside-down U, so the trophy has a strong, steady foot.
Step 7: The name plate
Inside the big bottom rectangle, draw a small rectangle with round corners in the middle. This is where the winner's name goes.
Step 8: The star
In the middle of the cup, draw a small star with five points. Start at the top point and zigzag around until you are back where you began.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw a plus sign high up on each side of the trophy. Make the lines cross in the middle so they look like twinkling sparkles.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a trophy
- Draw the top oval first and keep it wide and flat. The bowl hangs from its two ends, so the sides will line up.
- The handles are the trickiest part. Make them as round loops and try to match the size on both sides.
- For the star, make five light dots in a circle first. Then connect every dot and erase the dots when you are done.

How to color your trophy drawing
Color the cup, handles, and base in gold and yellow, and make the star bright orange or red. For a twist, color the trophy in your favorite team's colors or make it a rainbow trophy.
Trophy fun fact for kids
The first Olympic Games in ancient Greece gave winners a wreath of olive leaves instead of a trophy.
Questions about drawing a trophy
What shapes do I need to draw a trophy?
You need an oval for the opening, a rounded bowl shape, two C-shaped loops for handles, and two rectangle shapes for the base. A small rectangle for the name plate, a star, and two plus signs finish it.
How do I make both trophy handles look the same?
Draw one handle, then check how far it sticks out and how tall it is. Make the other handle the same width and height, starting at the same spots on the cup.
How can I make my trophy look shiny?
Add the sparkle plus signs near the top. You can also leave a small white streak on the cup when you color it, so it looks like light bouncing off gold.
