How to Draw a Christmas Cat (Easy Step by Step)
This cat wears a Santa hat and a little bell, which makes it a perfect holiday drawing. It is built from simple shapes: a bowl for the face, an egg shape for the body, pointy ears, a rounded rectangle for the hat band, and small circles for the pompom and bell. Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Bottom of the head
Draw a curved bowl shape for the cat's face, starting at the top left, curving down around the bottom and back up to the top right. Leave the top open, because the hat will cover it.
Step 3: The body
Under the head, draw a tall rounded shape like an egg for the body. Start at the left side of the head and end at the right side, with two little bumps along the bottom for the front paws.
Step 4: The pointy ears
Draw a curved line on each side of the head that goes up to a point and curls back down, like a pointy ear. Make the two ears match.
Step 5: Hat and face
Draw a long rounded rectangle across the top of the head for the hat band, then a big dome above it with a small circle for the pompom. Add a little 'w' shape for the nose and mouth, and two short whisker lines on each cheek.
Step 6: The eyes
Draw two round dots for eyes, side by side in the middle of the face above the 'w' mouth. Fill them in so they are nice and dark.
Step 7: The collar
Draw a gentle curve across the neck, just under the head, for the collar. It dips down a little in the middle.
Step 8: Bell and front legs
Draw a small rounded bell hanging in the middle of the collar, with a tiny line across it. Then draw one straight line going up from the middle of the bottom of the body to split it into two front legs.
Step 9: The curly tail
On the right side of the body near the bottom, draw a curvy tail that sweeps out and curls up at the end, like a hook. Make it a thin band by drawing two lines side by side that join at the tip.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas cat
- Start with the light guide ovals for the head and body, so the hat band and collar have a clear place to sit.
- Make the two ears the same size by drawing the first one, then comparing the second one to it before you finish.
- The tail is the trickiest part. Draw one curve first, then draw the second curve beside it so the tail stays the same width.
