How to draw Cinderella step by step

How to Draw Cinderella · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The hair bun

Near the top of the page, draw a small upside-down U shape for the hair bun. Leave the bottom open, because the head will go underneath.

  3. Step 3: Headband and bangs

Under the bun, draw a wide curved arch for the top of her hair, with a smaller arch just inside it for the headband. Then draw swoopy bangs that dip to a point in the middle of her forehead.

  4. Step 4: Face and ears

Draw a round chin line that starts below one side of the bangs and curves to the other side. Add a small round bump on each side for the ears.

  5. Step 5: Face, sleeves and arm

Give her two dots for eyes, two dots for cheeks, and a little curved smile. Below the chin, draw two puffy sleeves joined by a wavy neckline, with short lines going down for the top of the dress. Then draw one arm reaching out to the right with a small hand.

  6. Step 6: The ball gown

Draw a small pointy V for the waist, then sweep two big curved lines out and down for the sides of the skirt. Close the bottom with a wavy line that dips and rises like gentle scallops.

  7. Step 7: Skirt fold lines

Draw two long curved lines from the point of the waist down to the bottom edge of the skirt. They split the skirt into three parts.

  8. Step 8: Arms and hand

On her left side, draw the lowered arm as a long curved shape from the sleeve, ending in a small hand near the skirt. On the other side, draw a small curved line to finish the hand that is held out.

  9. Step 9: The little bird

On her open hand, draw a small round bird body with a tiny head and a little beak. Add a dot for the eye and a short curved line for the wing.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Cinderella

  • Draw the bun first and leave the bottom open, so the hair looks tucked in rather than stuck on.
  • The ball gown is the biggest part, so make the two skirt sides match as best you can. Keep your lines light until you like the shape.
  • Make the bird very small and draw it last, right on her open hand, so it has a place to sit.

How to color your Cinderella drawing

Try a classic light blue gown with yellow hair and a pink bow on the bird. For a creative twist, color each part of the skirt a different shade of blue so the dress looks like it shimmers.

Cinderella fun fact for kids

The Cinderella story is very old. A version from ancient Greece, about a girl named Rhodopis who loses a slipper, was written down about 2,000 years ago, and the glass slipper appeared in a French version published in 1697.
