How to Draw a Superhero Dad (Easy Step by Step)
A superhero dad is a friendly hero with a big smile, a flowing cape, and a star on his chest. He is built from simple shapes: curly ears, a swoopy patch of hair, rounded shoulders, and a sturdy body with boots. It is a great first character to draw because the cape and star make him look heroic with very little work.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Ears and cheeks
Draw a small curled ear on the left and the right, at the same height. From each ear, draw a short line sloping down and inward for the cheek.
Step 3: The hair
Draw a swoopy hairstyle that sits on top of the head between the two ears. Start above one ear, sweep up and across the forehead, and end above the other ear, then fill it in solid.
Step 4: Eyes and smile
Draw two small round dots for eyes, side by side in the middle of the face. Under them, draw a little curved smile like a bowl.
Step 5: The collar
Under the chin, draw a short curved line across the neck. Add a soft scoop on each side of it to make the collar of the cape.
Step 6: Shoulders and arms
From each end of the collar, draw a big rounded curve that goes out and down for the shoulder and arm. Finish each side with a small curl at the bottom for the sleeve end.
Step 7: Fists on hips
Draw a small curled fist on each side, just inside the arm, with a little hook at the top. They show the hero standing proudly with hands on hips.
Step 8: The flowing cape
From under each arm, draw a long slanted line going down and out. Finish each side with a short wavy line along the bottom that curves back toward the body.
Step 9: Legs and boots
Draw two straight lines down from the body for the legs. Connect them at the bottom with a small arch between the legs, and add a rounded boot at the bottom of each leg.
Step 10: The star emblem
Draw a small star in the middle of the chest between the two fists. Make five points with soft, rounded corners.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

- Draw the two slanted sides of the cape first, then add the wavy bottom on each side so both sides look about the same.

Questions about drawing a superhero dad
What shapes do I need to draw a superhero dad?
You need two small curly ears, a swoopy shape for the hair, and rounded shapes for the shoulders and body. Add a small star, a long triangle-like shape on each side for the cape, and two rounded boots.
How do I make the cape look like it is flowing?
Make the bottom edge wavy instead of straight, and let the cape flare out wider than the shoulders. Slanted sides make it look like it is moving in the wind.
How do I draw a star that looks good?
Draw five points around a center, keeping them about the same size. Round the corners so the star looks soft and friendly.
