Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The leafy treetop
Draw a big, puffy cloud shape in the middle of your page with lots of round bumps, like a head of broccoli. Close the shape at the bottom with a gentle wavy line.
Step 3: The tree trunk
Under the leafy top, draw two short straight lines going down from the bottom of the cloud. Finish the trunk with a wiggly line across the bottom.
Step 4: A happy face
Add two little round dots for eyes in the middle of the leafy top. Then draw a small curved smile between them.
Step 5: The ground line
Draw a long, gentle curved line across the page on the left, stopping at the trunk. Start again on the other side of the trunk and draw the line all the way to the edge of the page.
Step 6: The pond
In the bottom right, draw a big stretched oval for the pond. Let it run off the edge of the page, and make the sides a little wobbly.
Step 7: The little duck
Inside the pond, draw a small round body. Add a smaller circle on top for the head and a tiny pointed beak.
Step 8: The bench seat
On the left, draw a long flat rectangle for the seat of the bench. Add a second line along the bottom edge so it looks thick.
Step 9: Bench legs
Draw two short upside-down U shapes under the seat to make the legs, one on each end.
Step 10: The sun
In the top right corner, draw a circle for the sun. Then add short little lines all around it like rays.
Step 11: A little path
Between the tree and the pond, draw a tiny dot and a short curved dash to show a path.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a park
- Draw the leafy top as a row of round bumps, like a cloud, and let the bumps be different sizes so it looks natural.
- The trunk is easiest if you draw two nearly straight lines first and add the wiggly bottom edge last.
- Draw the pond as a big oval and let it run off the page. Then tuck the little duck inside so it has room to float.

How to color your park drawing
Try a green tree, a yellow sun, a blue pond and a brown bench, with a bright yellow duck. For a creative twist, give the tree leaves in autumn colors like orange and red.
Park fun fact for kids
Trees cool the air around them. Leaves give shade, and they also release water vapor, which is why a park under big trees feels cooler than a paved parking lot.
