Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Top of the head
Draw a big curved arch like a rounded helmet for the top of the head. Leave the bottom open for now.
Step 3: Chin and cheeks
Draw a gentle wavy curve under the head for the chin and cheeks. It starts near the left side and swoops across to the right, closing up the face.
Step 4: Body, skirt and raised arm
Under the chin, draw two slanted lines going down for the body, then close the bottom with a flat skirt line. Add two short collar lines at the neck. On the left, draw a bent arm reaching up and out, ending in a small fist.
Step 5: Shield and other arm
Draw a big circle in the middle of the body for the shield. Then, on the right side, draw a bent arm that curves out and ends in a small round hand.
Step 6: Feet
Draw two little rounded shoes at the bottom, like small beans. Tuck them just under the skirt line.
Step 7: Sword
Next to the raised fist, draw a tall, flat sword shape with a pointed tip, tilted a little to the left. Add a short bar across the bottom of the blade for the guard.
Step 8: Eyes and mouth
Draw two round dots for the eyes, spaced apart. Between and below them, draw a small open mouth shaped like a half circle.
Step 9: Hair fringe
Draw a curvy fringe line across the forehead on the left with a little peak. Then draw a long swoosh across the right side of the forehead.
Step 10: Ponytail and bow
On the right side of the head, draw a rounded loop that hangs down for the ponytail. Finish it with a small ribbon shaped like a bow tie at the bottom.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a girl warrior
- Draw the sword as a long flat shape with a pointy top, then add the guard bar across the bottom. Tilting it a little makes her look excited.
- Make the shield circle as round as you can by drawing it slowly. If it comes out wobbly, it still looks like a handmade shield.
- Place the two eye dots far apart with the small mouth in the middle. Wide-set eyes and an open smile make her look bold and cheerful.
