How to draw a Kremlin tower step by step

How to Draw a Kremlin Tower · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: The wall base

Draw the bottom and sides of a wide wall: start at the top left, go down, curve around a rounded corner, run straight across, curve up the other corner, and go up the right side.

  2. Step 2: Wall battlements

Along the open top of the wall, draw a row of small square notches, like the teeth of a comb. Leave a gap near the right end for now.

  3. Step 3: The tower sides

Draw two tall, slightly wobbly lines rising from the top of the wall, a little left of the middle. Each one has a small bend near the middle and a tiny hook at the top. Leave the top open.

  4. Step 4: Tower top and roof

Close the top of the tower with a short notched crown. Then draw a small pointed roof like a tiny tent on top of it.

  5. Step 5: The star

Draw a small five-point star sitting on the tip of the roof.

  6. Step 6: Clock and slot

Draw a circle in the upper middle of the tower for the clock, with one short line inside for the clock hand. Then draw a tiny rounded slot below the clock.

  7. Step 7: Onion domes

On the right side of the wall, draw three onion domes in a row. Each one is a round belly with a small point on top, and two straight lines going down from it to the wall.

  8. Step 8: Dome windows

Under each dome, draw a short straight line across, then two tiny dots below it for windows.

  9. Step 9: Eyes and gate

Draw two round dots for eyes on the wall, low and in the middle. Below them, draw a rounded arch for the gate, starting and ending at the bottom edge of the wall.

  10. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Kremlin tower

  • Draw the tower sides straight and tall. If the two lines lean toward each other a tiny bit, it will look just right.
  • Onion domes are tricky. Think of a round balloon with a small point on top, and draw the wide belly first.
  • Keep the notches on top of the wall about the same size, like the teeth of a comb, so the wall looks even.

Questions about drawing a Kremlin tower

What shapes do I need to draw a Kremlin tower?

You need a wide wall with a notched top, a tall narrow tower, a circle for the clock, a small pointed roof, and a star on top. The domes are round balloon shapes with a small point.

How do I make the onion domes look right?

Start with a round belly, then bring the top up into a small point, like a teardrop standing on its end. Draw all three about the same size so they look like a set.

How do I make the Kremlin look friendlier?

Add two round dots for eyes and an arch for the gate, just like in this drawing. The gate looks a bit like a mouth.
