A tiara looks fancy, but it is built from easy shapes: a curved band, pointy peaks, small circles, a few swirls and tiny diamonds. Each step adds one piece, so you can watch a plain band turn into a sparkly crown. It is a fun drawing for anyone who loves princesses, queens, or a bit of shine.

Step 1: The headband
Draw two curved lines that bend like a smile to make a wide band. Then draw a slightly curved line going up from each end of the band, so the sides lean in a little.
Step 2: The tall center peak
Above the band, near the middle, draw a tall pointy peak like a mountain. Add a small slanted line down on each side of it, with a little peak at the end of each one.
Step 3: Side peaks begin
On the left, draw a V from the top of the left side up to the little peak next to the tall one. On the right, draw just a short slanted line starting from the top of the right side.
Step 4: Round jewels
Draw a small circle sitting on top of each of the five peaks. Make the one on the tallest peak a little higher than the others. Finish the right side of the tiara by connecting its short line up to the jewel.
Step 5: Curly swirls
Draw a slanted line from the right jewel down to the point where it meets the right side. Then, under the two outer valleys, draw a short line down that curls into a little spiral, like the end of a fern.
Step 6: Center gems
Draw a small diamond shape in the middle of the tiara, below the tall peak. Then draw a tiny circle in the middle of the band.
Step 7: Little sparkles
Around the tiara, draw two tiny circles with a dot inside up high, one on each side. Then draw a small diamond shape on each side, a little lower.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a tiara
- Draw the curved band first and keep your lines light. Every other part sits on top of it, so a nice curve makes the whole tiara look better.
- The pointy peaks can wobble, so make a small dot where each point should go, then connect the dots with straight lines.
- For the swirls, start at the top and curl inward, like drawing a snail shell. Go slowly, and it is fine if the two swirls are not exactly the same.

How to color your tiara drawing
Gold or yellow looks like a real tiara, with bright pink, blue, or purple for the round jewels. For a creative twist, make a rainbow tiara with a different color on every jewel, or color it silver and add glitter with sparkly pens.
Tiara fun fact for kids
The word tiara comes from an ancient Greek word for a tall headdress worn in Persia.
Questions about drawing a tiara
What shapes do I need to draw a tiara?
You need a curved band, zigzag lines for the peaks, small circles for the jewels, and two little spirals. The middle gem and the sparkles are small diamonds and circles.
How do I make my tiara look fancier?
Add more jewels, try small dots along the band, or draw extra sparkles around it. You can also color each jewel a different color.
What is the difference between a tiara and a crown?
A crown usually goes all the way around the head, while a tiara is often a half circle that sits on top at the front. They look a lot alike when drawn, so the same steps work for both.
