Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Sides of the head
Draw two bumpy, wobbly lines for the left and right sides of a fluffy head, like parts of a cloud. Leave the top and the bottom open for now.
Step 3: Top of head and ears
Draw a bumpy line across the top to join the two sides. At each top corner, add a small pointy triangle for an ear.
Step 4: Top of the body
Under the head, draw a bumpy curved line across the neck. Then curve a line down on each side, like the top of a round body, and leave the bottom open.
Step 5: Front legs
Inside the body, draw two tall arches that look like upside-down U shapes. Place them side by side with a gap between them.
Step 6: Fluffy paws
At the bottom of each leg, draw a wide flat oval for a paw. Let the two paws sit close together and touch the ends of the legs.
Step 7: Puffy tail
Next to the body, draw a small round shape with bumpy edges for the tail. Let it touch the side of the body.
Step 8: Eyes and nose
Draw two small dots for eyes, wide apart in the middle of the face. Then draw a small oval nose between them and a little lower.
Step 9: Smile and tongue
Under the nose, draw a curved smile that turns up at both ends. Add a little rounded tongue hanging down from the middle of the smile.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Samoyed
- Make the head outline from lots of small bumps, like drawing a cloud. Go slowly and let each bump flow into the next one.
- Draw the two ears small and pointy, one at each top corner of the head.
- Draw both legs the same height before adding the paws, and check that the two paws line up at the bottom.
