How to draw a Christmas raccoon step by step

How to Draw a Christmas Raccoon · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The big head

Draw a wide, round oval for the head, like an egg lying on its side. Make it big, because the head is the biggest part of this raccoon.

  3. Step 3: Two round ears

Add a small half circle on each top corner of the head. Let the lines start and stop on the head outline.

  4. Step 4: The bandit mask

In the middle of the face, draw a wide bean shape that dips down in the center, like a pair of goggles. This is the raccoon's famous mask.

  5. Step 5: Eyes, nose and muzzle

Put a small dot inside each side of the mask for the eyes. Below the mask, draw a little rounded cup shape for the muzzle, then fill in a small nose at the top of the cup.

  6. Step 6: Smile and body lines

Draw a tiny smile under the nose. Then sketch the start of the body below the chin with short curved lines, and add bumpy lines on each side for the arms.

  7. Step 7: The cozy scarf

Draw a curved band across the neck, just under the chin. Make it a little wider at the sides, like a scarf wrapped around the raccoon.

  8. Step 8: Two flat feet

At the bottom of the body, draw two flat ovals side by side for the feet.

  9. Step 9: The striped tail

On the right, draw a rounded leaf shape that tucks in behind the body. Add curved stripes across it from one edge to the other.

  10. Step 10: The candy cane

On the left, draw a tall, straight stick and curl the top into a hook. Add short slanted stripes down the stick.

  11. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas raccoon

  • Draw the mask as one wide bean shape before adding the eyes. It helps to make the dip in the middle first, then curve out to both sides.
  • Sketch the head oval lightly and big. If the head is much larger than the body, the raccoon looks extra cute.
  • For the tail, draw the outer curved shape first, then add the stripes. Keep each stripe curving the same way so they look like rings.
