How to draw Little Boy Blue step by step

How to Draw Little Boy Blue · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head outline

Start at the bottom middle of the head and curve up the left side, over the top and down the right side. It makes a big round shape, and the lower right stays open for now.

  3. Step 3: Cap band, curl and horn

Draw a gently curved line across the head for the cap band, with a little curl of hair hooking out on the left. On the right, draw a short slanted tube like a horn sticking out past the cap, and add a tiny shape under the head near the neck.

  4. Step 4: The body

Under the head, draw a flat line for the top of the shirt, then a small oval for the arm on the left. Draw a straight line down the right side and a flat line across the bottom to finish a rectangle-shaped tunic.

  5. Step 5: Raised arm and hand

Draw a small loop near the horn for his hand. Then draw a long curved line from the hand down toward the neck to make the arm that reaches up to the horn.

  6. Step 6: The belt

Draw two curved lines straight across the middle of the tunic, one above the other, to make a belt.

  7. Step 7: Buckle and shoes

Draw two tiny short lines side by side in the middle of the belt for the buckle. Then draw two little oval shoes at the bottom of the tunic, side by side.

  8. Step 8: Hay hill and cow's back

Draw a big curved line rising up on the left, a long flat line along the bottom, and a short curve going up at the right end to make the hay hill. Then draw a gently curved line from the boy's arm out to the right for the cow's back.

  9. Step 9: The cow's head

At the end of the back line, draw a wide rounded oval for the cow's face. Add a small curved ear sticking out on the right side.

  10. Step 10: Faces and horns

On the cow, draw a small rounded snout low on the face with two tiny dots for nostrils, two dots for eyes, a curved ear on the left and two curved horns on top. On the boy, add two small dots for eyes and a little smile, and a few short lines around his hand on the horn.

  11. Step 11: Hay lines

Draw two short curved lines on the hill to show hay. Then draw one long curved line starting under the cow's chin and sweeping down to the edge of the hill.

  12. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Little Boy Blue

  • Draw the head big and take your time, since the body is placed right under it.
  • The horn is the trickiest part. Start with a short slanted tube and keep both sides about the same width.
  • Draw the cow's face oval first, then add the ears and horns so they sit evenly on each side.
  • Leave a little space between the two belt lines so the buckle fits between them.
