Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big head
Start with a big, wide egg shape that is a little flatter on the bottom. Add a small pointy tuft of hair that sweeps up and curls over at the top.
Step 3: The hair curl
Inside the head, right under the tuft on the right side, draw a short curved line that hooks down and to the left, like a little comma.
Step 4: The round body
Under the head, draw a soft bean shape that is narrower than the head. Give it two little bumps at the bottom for the feet, with a small dip between them.
Step 5: Little arms
Draw a curved line from each side of the head down along the body to make two short, stubby arms. They bend out a little like round noodles.
Step 6: Cute face
Draw two big filled circles for the eyes, spaced far apart. Between them, a bit lower, add a tiny wavy smile that looks like a sideways letter w.
Step 7: Jacket collar
Under the chin, draw two short bent lines, one on each side, to make the folded collar flaps. Together they make a small V opening for the jacket.
Step 8: Tie and button
In the middle of the V, draw a tie shaped like a long diamond pointing down, and color it in. Add a small dot below it for the jacket button.
Step 9: The briefcase
On the left, draw a rounded rectangle that sits low and touches the side of the body. This is the main part of the briefcase.
Step 10: Handle and clasp
Add a small loop on top of the briefcase for the handle. Then draw a straight band across the middle with a little square clasp in the center.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing The Boss Baby
- Draw the head first and make it much bigger than the body. The big head is what makes him look like a baby.
- Keep the two eyes far apart and the smile tiny. If the smile is too wide, the face stops looking cute.
- Draw the briefcase as a plain rounded rectangle first, then add the handle, the band, and the small square clasp. Make the corners round, not sharp.
