How to draw Kuromi step by step

How to Draw Kuromi · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Hood and ears

Start at the bottom left and draw one big wavy outline: curve up into a tall rounded ear, dip down in the middle, then go up into a second ear. Curve down the right side and back along the bottom to close the hood.

  3. Step 3: The face

Inside the hood, draw a wide oval for the face as two curved lines. Start both at the top middle with a small gap between them, and curve each one down to the bottom edge of the hood.

  4. Step 4: Body and right arm

Under the hood, draw the bottom of a chubby body with two round feet and a flat dip between them. Add a small rounded bump on the right side for an arm.

  5. Step 5: The left arm

On the left side, draw a small rounded arm. Start at the bottom edge of the hood, curve it out, and bring it back in to meet the body.

  6. Step 6: The bow tie

Under the chin, draw a bow tie. Make two little triangles that point toward each other, one on each side of the middle.

  7. Step 7: The eyes

Draw two small round dots for the eyes, low on the face and far apart.

  8. Step 8: The little smile

Between the eyes, draw a tiny smile that looks like a curvy letter w. Keep it small so the face looks sweet.

  9. Step 9: The skull

At the top of the face, between the ears, draw a small rounded skull with a short flat jaw at the bottom. Then add two small oval eyes inside it.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Kuromi

  • Sketch the hood and the face as light ovals first, with the face sitting inside the hood. Seeing both shapes together makes the rest much easier.
  • Draw the two ears at the same height. Start at the bottom left, curve up into one ear, and check that the second ear looks like a matching pair.
  • Draw the skull last and keep it small. Start with a rounded top, add a short flat jaw, and put two small ovals inside for the eyes.

How do I make my Kuromi look cuter?

Place the eyes low on the face and wide apart, and keep the smile tiny. A small mouth and round dot eyes make the face look sweet.
