How to Draw Gingy From Shrek · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The head

Draw a big round curve near the top of the page for the head, like a circle with the bottom left open. Stop a little above the middle on each side, where the neck will be.

  3. Step 3: The left arm

Start where the head line ends on the left and draw a curved line out to the side. Round it off into a mitten-shaped hand, then curve it back in toward the body.

  4. Step 4: The right arm

Do the same on the other side. Start where the head line ends on the right, draw a curve out to a round hand, then bring it back toward the body so both arms match.

  5. Step 5: The left leg

Start at the bottom of the left arm and draw a line curving down the side of the body. Finish with a round foot, then sweep the line back up toward the middle.

  6. Step 6: The right leg

Start at the bottom of the right arm and draw a line curving down the other side of the body. Make a round foot, then sweep up and join the line from the other leg in the middle, so the legs make an upside-down V.

  7. Step 7: Eyes

Draw two small circles in the upper middle of the head, side by side at the same height. Color them in solid.

  8. Step 8: The smile

Under the eyes, draw a short curve like a little bowl or a happy U shape. Keep it centered between the eyes.

  9. Step 9: Two buttons

Draw one small circle in the middle of the tummy. Then draw a second circle of the same size right below it.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Gingy from Shrek

  • Sketch the head as a light circle first so it looks round, then trace over it with a firm line.
  • The arms and legs are the trickiest part. Make both sides match by drawing the left arm, then the right arm, before moving on to the legs.
  • Draw the two eyes at the same height and the same size, and keep the buttons the same size too, so Gingy looks friendly.
