Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Bear's head and body
Draw a wobbly outline for the bear's head with two small round ears on top. Let the right side slide down into a tall body line that curls in at the bottom, and add a little curl on the left side.
Step 3: Bear's face
Draw two little dots for eyes in the middle of the face. Add a tiny nose and a small wavy mouth just below them.
Step 4: The drum
In front of the bear, draw a wide oval for the top of the drum with a wavy rim inside it. Add curved sides below it and a rounded bottom.
Step 5: Bear's arm and feet
Draw a short curved arm line coming from the bear's side and reaching toward the drum. Then add a wavy line under the drum for the bear's feet.
Step 6: The bunny
Next to the bear, draw two tall rounded ears side by side. Then draw a line down the right side for the bunny's body, ending in a bumpy line along the bottom.
Step 7: The kitty
Next to the bunny, draw a wavy line across the top with two pointy ears. Draw a line down the right side with a little curly tail, and finish with a wavy line along the bottom.
Step 8: Arms and instruments
Between the bunny and the kitty, draw short bent arm lines reaching forward. Add a small slanted tube shape for an instrument near the kitty.
Step 9: Faces and drum details
Add small dots for eyes and a nose on the bunny and the kitty, plus a few little marks on the kitty's face. Draw a drumstick above the drum and small V-shaped marks along the drum's bottom edge.
Step 10: Floating music notes
Above the band, draw two round dots and give each a short stem going up. Finish each note with a little curved flag at the top.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing animals in a marching band
- Draw the bear first and leave room on the right, because the bunny and kitty stand right next to it and tuck in behind its side.
- Keep the drum wide and low: draw the top oval first, then the curved sides, so it looks like it sits in front of the bear.
- The instruments and arms in the middle are small and tight, so draw them slowly with short lines.

Animals in a marching band fun fact for kids
A marching band often has a drum line, and snare drums are a common part of it. The steady beat from the drummers helps everyone in the band walk in time together.
Questions about drawing animals in a marching band
What shapes do I need to draw animals in a marching band?
You need a big rounded shape for the bear, a wide oval with curved sides for the drum, tall rounded ears for the bunny, and pointy ears for the kitty. Small dots make the eyes and notes.
How do I make the animals look cuter?
Keep the eyes as small dots and the nose and mouth tiny. Round, wobbly lines for the heads and bodies also make everyone look soft and friendly.
How do I draw animals that overlap each other?
Draw the front animal first. Then stop your line where it meets the front animal's edge when you draw the one behind it. This makes the bunny and kitty look like they are standing behind the bear.
