How to draw a roast chicken dinner step by step

How to Draw a Roast Chicken Dinner · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Plate and knife

Draw a long curved line like a big smile for the bottom of the plate. Then, on the right, draw a tall skinny knife with a pointed rounded top, a straight edge, and a rounded bottom.

  2. Step 2: Chicken and plate edge

Starting from the left end of the plate, draw a big curved line up and over for the top of the chicken, ending in a bumpy knob at the top right. Add a short curved line inside on the left, a slanted line down from the knob, and a curve on the right that finishes the plate and meets the knife.

  3. Step 3: Mashed potatoes

On the right side of the plate, under the chicken leg, draw a puffy cloud shape with wiggly bumps all around.

  4. Step 4: The fork

On the left, draw a long thin fork handle with a rounded bottom. At the top, make the handle widen into a fork head with two curved sides.

  5. Step 5: Fork prongs

Inside the top of the fork head, draw three short straight lines going down. They make the prongs.

  6. Step 6: Knife handle lines

Near the middle of the knife, draw two tiny short lines across it. They show where the blade meets the handle.

  7. Step 7: The carrot

On the left side of the plate, below the chicken, draw a small wiggly tuft for the carrot top. Then draw a long bumpy line running down and to the right from it for one side of the carrot.

  8. Step 8: Peas and carrot edge

Draw a small group of circles beside the carrot for peas, with some touching. Then draw a curved line from the carrot over the peas toward the mashed potatoes to finish the pile.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a roast chicken dinner

  • Start with the long curve of the plate and keep it light. The chicken, potatoes, and peas all sit on it, so it helps you plan where everything goes.
  • The bumpy bone end can be tricky. Draw one round bump, then add a smaller bump beside it, and it will look like a little cloud.
  • For the mashed potatoes, draw lots of small curves joined end to end instead of one long wobbly line.
  • Draw the fork and knife tall and thin so they frame the plate on both sides.
