How to draw a nurse step by step

How to Draw a Nurse · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: The big round head

Draw a big, round shape for the head, like a rounded egg. Start near the bottom on one side, curve up and over the top, and come back down on the other side, leaving the bottom open.

  3. Step 3: Hair and ponytail

Draw a wavy line across the head with a little peak near the middle for the bangs. Then add a curvy ponytail on the right side that swings out and curls down at the end.

  4. Step 4: The neck and body

Under the head, draw a short flat line for the neck. Then draw a body shaped like a rounded box, with straight sides going down and a flat bottom.

  5. Step 5: Arms and hands

On the left side, draw a bendy arm that hangs down from the shoulder and ends in a small round hand. On the right side, draw a short curved line beside the body for the other arm.

  6. Step 6: Little round shoes

Under the body, draw two wide ovals side by side for the shoes. Leave a small gap between them.

  7. Step 7: The clipboard

Next to the right side of the body, draw a tall rectangle for the clipboard. Add a tiny heart on the front, and a small curve at the bottom for the hand holding it.

  8. Step 8: Stethoscope tubes

On the chest, draw two short lines hanging straight down, side by side, starting just under the neck.

  9. Step 9: Face and finishing touches

Add two dots for eyes and a happy curved smile. Then add a small V-shaped collar, a little square badge with a dot in the middle, the stethoscope loop at the bottom, and two short lines for legs above the shoes.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a nurse

  • Sketch the head as a light round shape first, then draw the hair line across it. The little peak in the middle of the bangs makes the hair look neat, so go slowly there.
  • Draw the body as a rounded box with straight sides, then add the arms along each side so they look like they are hanging down.
  • Draw the shoes as two wide ovals of the same size. If one looks too small, add a little more to it until the pair matches.

Try a light blue or pink uniform, with a bright red heart on the clipboard. For a creative twist, give her a rainbow stethoscope or draw a teddy bear patient sitting next to her.

Nurse fun fact for kids

A stethoscope lets a nurse or doctor listen to your heartbeat and your breathing. It was invented in 1816 by a French doctor named René Laennec, and the first one was just a rolled-up tube of paper.
