Step 1: Santa hat
Draw a curved band, then a long floppy cone that sweeps up and over to the right from the band. Add a small short line near the tip of the cone for a fold.
Step 2: The pom-pom
At the tip of the hat, draw a small circle for the pom-pom. Let it touch the end of the hat.
Step 3: Head and side arms
Starting under the hat band on each side, draw a curved line down for the round head. At the bottom of each line, curve out into a wide, wavy arm that reaches left or right, with a rounded tip.
Step 4: The bottom arms
In the middle below the head, draw two curvy arms that start at one point and swoop down and outward. Curl the ends up a little.
Step 5: Eyes and smile
Draw two oval eyes inside the head, one on each side. Add a small curved smile between them.
Step 6: Left curly arm
On the left, draw a thin arm that rises up from the big arm and curls over at the top like a candy cane hook. Close the arm back down to the body.
Step 7: Right curly arm
On the right, draw a matching curly arm that rises up and curls over at the top. Add a little loop near the middle of the arm.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Questions about drawing a Christmas octopus

You need a curved band and a long cone for the hat, a small circle for the pom-pom, and a round head. The arms are wavy, rounded shapes, and two of them curl at the top like candy canes.
How do I make my octopus look cuter?
Keep the eyes wide apart and the smile small. Big round eyes make it look friendly.
What is the hardest part of this drawing?
The curly arms are the trickiest part. Draw them slowly in one smooth line, and it is fine if they look a little wobbly.
