How to draw a kid in a cat costume step by step

How to Draw a Kid in a Cat Costume · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head, face and ears

Draw a big wide oval for the head, but leave a gap at the bottom of the chin. Add a triangle ear on each top corner, then two small dot eyes, a tiny oval nose and a few short whisker lines on each cheek. Finish with a little U shape under the chin.

  3. Step 3: The body

Under the chin, draw a short curved line going across for the top of the body. Then draw a line down from each end, tilting out a little toward the bottom, to make a tall rounded box.

  4. Step 4: Arms and hands

Draw a long bendy loop down each side of the body for the arms. Finish each one with a small circle at the bottom for the hand.

  5. Step 5: Skirt and tail

Draw a flat line across the bottom of the body, then add a wavy squiggle at each end for the skirt edge. Draw a long curly line out from the right side for the tail, with a little hook at the end.

  6. Step 6: Feet

Draw two wide ovals under the skirt, side by side, for the shoes. Let them overlap a little in the middle.

  7. Step 7: Collar

Draw a short curved line across the top of the body, just under the chin, for the collar. Let it pass over the little U shape.

  8. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid in a cat costume

  • Draw the head oval nice and wide before adding anything else. The ears and whiskers need room to fit around it.
  • Keep the two ears the same size by starting each one at the same spot on the head, then drawing a triangle point straight up.
  • Keep the lines on the cheeks short, so the whiskers do not poke far out. Start the tail from the side of the skirt and let it curl up into a hook.
