Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big head
Draw a big oval for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a small gap along the bottom where the body will join.
Step 3: The round body
Under the head, draw the two curved sides of a plump round body. Start each side at the bottom of the head and curve it down and in, and leave the very bottom open.
Step 4: The two wings
Draw a small loop shaped like a leaf on each side, where the head meets the body. Start each wing at the body, curve up and out, then bring the line back in to the body.
Step 5: Antennas
On top of the head, draw a short curved line on each side that bends outward. Finish each one with a tiny circle at the tip, like a bead.
Step 6: Silly smiley face
Add two small dots for eyes in the middle of the head. Then draw a little curved smile like a bowl between and below them.
Step 7: Bee stripes
Draw two curved lines across the body from one side to the other. Start and end each line on the body outline, and keep them gently curved so the body looks round.
Step 8: Honey jar and hands
In the middle of the belly, draw a small jar shaped like a rounded box with a flat lid line on top. Add a tiny curved hand on each side of the jar, and a small V shape at the bottom.
Step 9: Two oval feet
At the very bottom, draw two sideways ovals that touch in the middle. These are the little feet under the body.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid in a bee costume
- Draw the head first and make it nice and big. A big head makes the character look cute.
- The wings are the trickiest part. Start each one where it touches the body and loop it out like a leaf, then curve back to the body.
- Draw the stripes after the body is done, and keep them gently curved. That is what makes the body look round instead of flat.
